Spring is a great time of year to add a variety of lavender plants to your garden and containers. It is an opportunity to create a drought-tolerant space that will attract beneficial insects and birds and add visual appeal, soothing beauty, and aromatic charm to benefit your environment.
Unfortunately, there isn’t just one type of lavender that blooms continually throughout the spring, summer and autumn months in the Pacific NW. However, if you plant different hardy species and cultivars of Lavandula, you could have a variety of lavender flowers blooming from May to October!
In the Pacific Northwest we have virtually every lavender you’re looking for. Discover over 100 different cultivars of lavender that will flourish in Zones 5-8. Lavender plants are versatile perennials, and there are many ways to incorporate lavender into your landscape. Create borders of lavender to grow in hot, sunny and dry locations. Grow lavender on a slope or mounds, in raised beds or rock gardens, or in different sizes of containers. Plant lavender with other perennials, herbs and annual flowers that like the same growing conditions to create a charming cottage garden or a formal landscape. Lavender flowers and silver-evergreen foliage will add vibrant, contrasting color and fragrance to any space. Choose lavender plants from the wide range of sizes and flower colors that are available. Expand the color palette in your garden to include many shades of purple, blue, and violet, to light and dark pink, and white lavender flowers.
Create a relaxing outdoor space to enjoy the soothing beauty and fragrance that lavender will add to your garden.
