Aside from its first appearance in New Zealand, details of this cultivar’s origin are unknown.
‘Blue Ice’ has a compact, bushy habit with unusually broad grey-green leaves. The pale blue-white flowers complement dark purple-blue lavender flowers when planted together in the garden and when they are combined with dark blue lavender flowers in fresh and dried bouquets.
