A Pacific Northwest Original
Species: Lavandula angustifolia
Cultivar: ‘Twilight Dancer’
Flower Color: Dark Purple
Stem Length: 10-12 inches
Plant Height: 15-18 inches
Origin: introduced by Van Hevelingen Herb Nursery, Newberg, Oregon in 2024.
This cultivar is catching the attention of lavender growers for its compact, vase-shaped structure, and tendency to re-bloom. It features thick, durable stems that make it a good option for cocktail pick and skewers. Its intriguing name derives from the way light can appear to dance across the calyces, producing a soft, velvety glow.
The flowers are suitable for cutting, drying, culinary applications, or simply enjoying in a landscape. There is some thought that this seedling originated as a cross between the cultivars ‘Avice Hill’ and ‘Melissa Lilac’. Interested in trying something new? ‘Twilight Dancer’ provides an attractive and unique addition to any garden.
