THE NORTHWEST LAVENDER BRAND

RECOGNIZE THIS ICON WHEN YOU SEE IT

Lavender Northwest is pleased to announce the deployment of a new brand icon that will start appearing on products containing lavender grown in the great Pacific Northwest.  During the 2025 bloom season, members of LNW will be applying this icon to a huge array of items, reassuring buyers that the lavender content of each product actually derives from plants grown in our region by reliable farmers.

Delight your senses is our mantra.  When you notice the icon, we want you to recall the incredible sight of long, undulating rows of blooming lavender.  We hope you can conjure the alluring fragrance wafting over those fields.   We ask you to remember the soft, plush feel of fresh buds between your fingers.  We invite you to imagine the refreshing, lively taste of lavender as it punctuates the flavor of your favorite treats.  In short, we want this icon to let your sensory memories run wild.

The farmers and product-makers who pride themselves on the cultivation and uses of fine NW-grown lavender know that they follow on the heels of many prominent NW-based predecessors in the lavender industry.  For more than a century, the Pacific Northwest has been the home of innovators in the field. They have provided us with new cultivars that are particularly well-suited to the region.  They have devised reliable methods to optimize plant productivity and the quality of harvested products.  They have found ways to apply lavender in a myriad of crafted items such as wreaths, dried arrangements, scented pillows, and many types of decoration.  They have taught us reliable techniques for incorporating lavender derivatives into fragrance products (like candles and room sprays), bath & body products (like soaps, lotions and bath bombs), household products (like cleaning solutions and pet sprays)…the spectrum of applications is truly impressive.  And we must not forget their commitment to the remarkable culinary utility of this aromatic plant.  From lemonade, clear spirits, ice cream, baked goods, and candy to grilled meats, roasted vegetables, and salad dressings, NW-grown lavender can find its way into innumerable foods and beverages, adding the magic of a lively lavender scent to your tasting experiences.

Our new brand icon intends to remind everyone that lavender in the Pacific Northwest means wide variety, abundance, and availability.  While we respect our heritage arising from two prominent European Lavandula cultivars, we never intend to present a botanical Baskin-Robbins showcase stocked with just vanilla and mint options.  Our NW lavender tradition is one of great variety, celebrating lavenders and lavandins of diverse sizes and forms, blooming at different times, and glowing in shades of purple, violet, blue, pink and white.  Our privileged geography and climate support an abundance of different cultivars, and yield bountiful crops of fresh flower stalks and buds.  These conditions allow our growers to provide you with a wide spectrum of lavender cultivars to satisfy your specific needs, and to keep lavender derivatives like dried buds, essential oil, hydrosol, and extracts readily available for your use.

As you can tell, we believe that NW-grown lavender is special, and it deserves our continued support and innovative efforts.  We hope you can appreciate the richness of meaning represented by our new icon.  Please look for it when making your future lavender purchases.
